Learning Objectives


At the completion of this activity learners will be able to:

1.     Describe how to effectively recognize and respond to an opioid-involved breathing emergency, including considerations with xylazine and illicitly manufactured fentanyl.

2.     Counsel patients and caregivers on how to use unregulated substances more safely and where to find recovery resources.

3.     Dispel myths and provide facts related to medications for opioid use disorder, passive fentanyl exposure, various naloxone formulations, and liability concerns.

 

 

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS

The University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.  This is an application-based educational activity. Pharmacists will receive 1 contact hours (0.1 ceus) for the educational activity. No partial credit is available. UNIVERSAL ACTIVITY NUMBER (UAN): 0060-0000-23-040-L01-P. Expiration Date 05/04/2026.

 

PROGRAM EVALUATION

All participants will have the opportunity to evaluate the educational sessions, speakers and identify educational needs.

 


REQUIREMENTS FOR CE CREDIT

A program evaluation must be completed at www.uripharmacycpd.org within 60 days of the live program date (9/21/2024) in order to receive CE credit.  CE credit will be transferred to the CPE Monitor upon successful completion of the program evaluation. Transfer of CE credit should be verified at mycpemonitor.net where CE statements are available to print. Please refer to the evaluation instructions that follow for completing program evaluations and reporting CE credit.
